L’Europe a demandé à la France de réviser à la baisse son Plan national d’allocation des quotas (PNAQ) d’émissions de CO2 et la France s’est diligemment exécutée. L’enveloppe totale allouée a maigri de 17,8 tonnes, soit 132,8 millions de tonnes au lieu de 150,6 pour la période 2008-2012. Même si les secteurs de la terre cuite et du verre sont loin de compter parmi les plus gros émetteurs de CO2, il leur faudra donc se serrer un peu plus la ceinture… Pourtant, les efforts consentis sont déjà conséquents, comme le souligne M. Tackels dans l’interview que vous trouverez la revue, mais les marges d'amélioration sont minimes. De même, la démarche HQE trouve dans les produits de terre cuite des alliés dont les performances progressent de façon constante.
La céramique fine a aussi ses objectifs à atteindre en matière d’abaissement d’émissions de CO2 et d’amélioration de la sécurité. Environnement et qualité peuvent à l’occasion rimer quand l’optimisation du service client passe par une amélioration de la logistique, c’est ce que nous prouve l'expérience d’Imerys Tiles Minerals. The European administration has urged France to reduce its National CO2 Emission Allocation Plan (NAP) and France has duly obeyed. The total volume of allocated emission quotas has consequently been cut by 17.8 tonnes to 132.8 million tonnes (compared to 150.6 million tonnes) for the 2008-2012 period. Even if the heavy clay and glass sectors are far from being the biggest CO2 emitters, they will have to tighten their belt a little bit more… Yet, the efforts made so far have already been substantial, as underlined by Mr. Tackels in the interview, but optimisation margins are small. In a similar way, the EHQ promoters can count on the performances of heavy clay products which have been steadily improving.
Fine ceramics has also goals to attain as far as CO2 emission abatment and safety improvement are concerned. From time to time, environment and quality can get along well when improving customer service means optimising logistics, as demonstrated by the experience of Imerys Tiles Minerals.
